Taste of Soulard This Weekend
Mardi Gras festivities in Soulard have been going on for a couple of weeks now. This weekend is the biggest so far and will be the biggest leading up to the parade a week from Saturday. Mardi Gras Inc. is the place to check for all of the details

On tap for this weekend will be the Taste of Soulard, 5K Run on Saturday, and the the Pet Parade on Sunday. These events will bring 10’s of thousands to the neighborhood this weekend. Although the crowds pale in comparison to the Mardi Gras Parade day these events are a lot more relaxed and a ton of fun.
The Taste of Soulard takes place Saturday and Sunday the 26th and 27th. Many Soulard establishments offer their signature dishes and drinks in exchange for tickets attendees purchase in advance. The food is great and atmosphere is fun at every establishment all day long. Here is a list of participating establishments and their dishes. Check the Mardi Gras Inc website for more info. The Pet Parade is a favorite as well. Registration for the parade begins at 10AM Sunday and the parade kicks off at 1PM. The parade starts on the north side of the neighborhood at Menard and Allen. People often dress in costume and dogs as well. Sometimes the dogs have costumes that better than their owners. Needless to say the people/dog watching makes the event worth attending.
