Apparently the Pet Parade on Sunday set the world record for the most costumed pets in one location. This according to stltoday.com
The Pet Parade is one of the warmup events to the big parade this Saturday for Mardi Gras in Soulard. The Pet Parade coincides with the wiener dog races and the 2nd day of the Taste of Soulard event. The Mardi Gras évents have grown over the years and it has turned into a series of parties, parades, and contests that last nearly 3 weeks and culminating in the Grand Parade. The Grand Parade draws hundreds of thousands of people to the Soulard neighborhood in St. Louis. It is one of the largest Mardi Gras celebrations in the United States. This year is will take place on February 18th.
